There’s a sequence to building a therapy or counselling practice. There are things that must be done in order to see your business grow. There are some basic steps that you can follow to attract more therapy clients.

Get Clear On The Client You Desire To Work With

Before you begin any psychotherapy marketing you need to research who your services can help the most. Effective psychotherapy marketing starts with a clear understanding of exactly who you’re targeting.

Specialising in your approach often seems counter intuitive when starting out.  Often we just want “some” clients or  “any clients”, especially starting out.  Narrowing your target market can make it easier to attract clients and possibly make them more long-term. How does this happen?  If you message to potential clients about what you offer is very clear then those who needs match accurately are more likely to call.  Compare to therapists offering depression counselling services.  The first just has a flyer with “depression counselling” mentioned in a long list of ailments that they treat.  Whilst the 2nd therapist has in depth explanation, possible causes, treatment options all targeted on depression counselling.   Now which therapist would you more likely choose in this instance?
